Post Study Work Permit


The UK post-study work visa allows international students to stay back in the UK to search for work for a period of 2 years after completing their graduate studies. Also, students pursuing Ph.D. are allowed to stay up to 12 months after completing their degree. This rule of staying in the UK after graduation will again makes the UK a topmost choice for international students. Also, all International students are eligible for a part time job during their Courses of studies. Thus, UK also provides the opportunity for job, similar to the Universities in the other countries. The maximum permissible work limit for every week is around 20 hours. From October 4 (2023), a revised fee structure for UK visas has been implemented for those aiming to enter the UK. The increase in cost has gone up for students, skilled workers and immigrants. As per the official site, the cost of family, settlement and citizenship visas has increased by 20%, while the cost of work and visit visas is by 15%.

The visa charge for students, including child students and dependents, is now GBP 490 (approx INR 50,000). However, the UK authorities have said that there will be no rise in visa fees for short-term courses where students study English for more than 6 months but no more than 11 months.
